Travel Agent FAQ: Fees, Booking & Groups | Priority 1 Travel

Question 1

How do I get started booking travel with Priority 1 Travel?

Accepted Answer

It's simple — reach out by phone or email and we'll schedule a consultation to learn about your travel goals, budget, and timeline. From there, we handle everything: researching options, comparing prices, and presenting you with the best choices.

Question 2

Do I need to pay anything upfront to start planning?

Accepted Answer

Our fees are based on the work being performed. Depending on the complexity of your trip, a planning fee may apply — groups, destination weddings, and extensive custom itineraries are examples where a fee could be involved. We'll always discuss this with you upfront before any work begins.

Question 3

How far in advance should I book my trip?

Accepted Answer

A year out is ideal for most trips — the earlier you start, the better your selection of dates, accommodations, and pricing. For destination weddings and group travel, starting 12–18 months ahead is especially important to secure group rates and ensure your preferred resort is available. The early planner always wins.

Question 4

Can I book travel for just myself, or do you only handle groups?

Accepted Answer

We work with everyone — solo travelers, couples, families, and large groups. Whether it's a romantic getaway for two or a group cruise for 50, we tailor the experience to your needs.

Question 5

Do you charge a fee for your services?

Accepted Answer

Our fees are based on the work being performed. If you come to us with all the details already handled, there's no fee. However, groups, destination weddings, and extensive custom itineraries may come with a planning fee — which we'll always discuss with you upfront before any work begins.

Question 6

Will I get a better price booking through you vs. booking online myself?

Accepted Answer

Often yes. We have access to group rates, exclusive promotions, and supplier relationships that aren't available to the general public. And even when the price is the same, you get expert guidance, advocacy, and support.

Question 7

What happens if I need to cancel or change my trip?

Accepted Answer

We'll guide you through the cancellation and change policies for your specific booking and advocate on your behalf with suppliers. We strongly recommend travel insurance for all trips, which we can help you select and purchase.

Question 8

What makes Priority 1 Travel qualified to plan destination weddings?

Accepted Answer

Dale is a certified Destination Wedding & Honeymoon Specialist (DWHSA) with 13 years of experience as a travel agent and deep relationships with top wedding resorts including Hard Rock Hotels, Unico 2087, and Sandals. We've planned weddings across the Caribbean and Mexico.

Question 9

Is it legal to get married abroad?

Accepted Answer

Yes — many popular destinations allow legal ceremonies for international couples. Requirements vary by country (waiting periods, documents, witnesses). We walk you through every legal requirement for your chosen destination so there are no surprises.

Question 10

Can you coordinate travel for all of our wedding guests?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. Guest travel coordination is one of our core services. We manage flights, accommodations, and group rates for your entire guest list, making it easy for everyone to attend without the stress of booking on their own.

Question 11

Do destination wedding packages include the honeymoon?

Accepted Answer

Many resort packages include honeymoon perks like room upgrades, spa credits, and romantic dinners. We can also plan a separate honeymoon itinerary — whether you stay at the resort or venture to a new destination.

Question 12

Which cruise lines do you work with?

Accepted Answer

We work with all major cruise lines including Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Norwegian, Celebrity, Princess, and more. As a CLIA-certified agent, we have access to exclusive rates, onboard credits, and group amenities across the industry.

Question 13

What's included in a cruise package?

Accepted Answer

Most cruises include accommodations, meals in the main dining room, entertainment, and port stops. Specialty dining, shore excursions, beverages, and gratuities may be additional. We'll break down exactly what's included before you book.

Question 14

Can you help plan a group cruise?

Accepted Answer

Yes — group cruises are one of our specialties. Groups of 8 or more cabins typically qualify for group rates, amenities, and private events onboard. We handle all the logistics so your group can focus on having fun.

Question 15

What qualifies as a group booking?

Accepted Answer

Generally, 10 or more travelers qualify for group pricing with most suppliers. However, we can often negotiate group amenities for smaller parties depending on the destination and travel dates.

Question 16

How do you handle payments for a group?

Accepted Answer

Each traveler in the group can pay individually on their own schedule — you don't have to collect money from everyone yourself. We set up individual booking records and send payment reminders directly to each guest.

Question 17

Can you organize group travel for corporate events or reunions?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. We've coordinated travel for family reunions, church groups, corporate retreats, and milestone celebrations. We handle everything from group airfare and hotel room blocks to private excursions and group dining.
